About the School:

Somerset Community College is a public two-year college founded in 1965. It has two main campuses in Somerset and Laurel County and operates four other centers in Casey, Clinton, McCreary, and Russell Counties. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 20:1, the college has an annual enrollment of over 5,600 students.

Somerset provides associate’s degrees, diplomas, and certificates in over 40 fields of study, including business administration, criminal justice, surgical technology, nursing, computer & information technology, aviation technology, and more.

The tuition & fees for in-state students were around $4,200, and out-of-state students were charged around $14,400. The college also offers financial aid to 90% of its students.

Online Presence:

All of the online courses are supervised by the SCC faculty. Students are also required to attend formal class meetings. The college makes use of the Blackboard learning management system to conduct its classes. The complete details can be found on the distance learning page.

Laptop Programs:

Somerset Community College provides loaned laptops to its students for completing courses works. However, these laptops are limited in stock and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Accreditation:

Somerset Community College received accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
