About the School:
Purdue University is a public research university in West Lafayette, Indiana, and the flagship campus of the Purdue University system. The university was founded in 1869 after Lafayette businessman John Purdue donated land and money to establish a college of science, technology, and agriculture in his name.Laptop Programs:
Student Laptop Program for College of Veterinary Medicine
Incoming students are required to purchase a specific tablet laptop that is required instructional equipment. The computer purchase will include a 4-year replacement warranty. Our IT staff will provide technical support for these machines for the 4 years of the DVM program. In order to have the most up-to-date equipment, we will not know the specific model that will be chosen until late spring or early summer but we will let matriculating students know as soon as the model is determined. We expect the cost of the computer, replacement warranty and software to be approximately $2400. This will need to be purchased in July before financial aid funds have been disbursed. A limited number of short-term, interest-free loans of up to $1000 are available from the College to help cover this cost until financial aid funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. ITaP Shopping
Qualified Purdue faculty, staff, students and, in some cases, alumni have access to Purdue-negotiated pricing on computer hardware, software, and mobility service plans through the ITaP Shopping program. The program includes access to online vendor sites with Purdue pricing, and discounted software available online for purchase and download from OnTheHub (formerly Kivuto), a company providing electronic software delivery and software license eligibility. ITaP Shopping Online provides access to the online Dell storefront with special Purdue pricing on computers and other electronics. Equipment can be ordered online and delivered to a home address. Note that participation in the ITaP Shopping program is at the discretion of the student, faculty or staff member, and the purchase contract is between the purchaser and the vendor. Purdue University is not a party to sale; negotiations to resolve any disputes with the vendor will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Apple- Computers and other electronics
