About the School:

Northeast Mississippi Community College is a public community college in Booneville, Mississippi. It is one of fifteen community/junior colleges serving the state of Mississippi.

iPad Pick Up January 9th in Student Activities of the Haney Union. Deadline to have iPad Charge Removed for Spring February 20th  

Why the iPad?
With over 200,000 apps designed just for education, the iPad is the right choice for this program.  Currently there are no viruses that affect iPad; it provides a safer environment for your data and the campus network.

What iPad will I be getting?
Currently students are receiving the iPad 32GB 9.7, this is the 7th Generation iPad released September 2019

How much is this going to cost me?

The current $346, this is the iPad 7th Generation.  Apple Pencil is supported but not required.

How many iPads can I get?

Do I have to participate?

All students must have an iPad. The only exceptions to this are if you are taking all virtual classes or dual enrollment sections (DE).

Can I use my own iPad?
Yes, if you currently have an iPad, you can bring it to your class.  Your iPad must be in working condition running the latest iOS.   You must also provide NEMCC proof that your iPad has met these conditions by registering it by visiting the NEMCC Help Desk in the Union..

How can this program save me money?
Northeast has a wide variety of low cost to no cost textbooks for you to choose from.  Along with that digital books save students money.  A typical freshman who generally would spend $1100 per semester for textbooks, can see their cost reduce down to as low as $55.

I do not have internet at home can I still access my books?
Yes, Vitalsource ebooks and OER textbooks are downloaded directly to your iPad so they can be accessed offline.  Books from the publisher may require internet access.

When do I pay?
Your iPad payment will be due the same time your tuition and fees are due.

Can I use Financial Aid?
Yes, you can use Pell Grant, MTAG & Student Loans to pay for your iPad.  There is also a payment plan available through the business office.

Institutional Scholarships that cannot be used for iPad.
ACT Performance, Academic Achievement, Activity, Career/Technical Incentive, Leadership, Athletic, Band, Cheerleader, Chorus, Commercial Artist, Country/Western Music, Journalism, Music, Pom Squad, Theatre, Tiger Ambassador, Tiger Dancer.

 Who owns the iPad?
The iPad is yours to own.  NE Manages the iPad during your time here at the college to and can assist you in locating and unlocking your iPad.   We do not monitor what you do on your device.

When do I pick up my iPad?
You may begin picking up your iPad starting January 9th in the Haney Union.  You must go by the business office first to obtain proof of payment.

There Is No Need To Order An IPad For Spring 2020!

First time Freshman and first semester Transfer Students will have the iPad charge.  If you wish to remove the charge please bring your iPad to the Help Desk located in the Union beginning January 2020.
** Please remember that if you withdraw from college to go by the business office to make sure you do not owe any unpaid fees.
