Woot.com is a daily deal site owned by Amazon. Usually they offer deals for a set number of hours or until the deal is sold out but occasionally they have what they call “Woot Offs.” In Woot-Off mode, a new product is launched immediately after the sellout of the previous deal. There is a half-Woot-life of 12 hours maximum on any product within a Woot-Off that does not sell out. The number of Woot-Off items, sequence and quantity will not be announced.
Here is a live deal at the time of posting:
Instead of focusing on a product, we focused on a price and filled in the blanks later. Due to this, we can’t really tell you what you’re buying because we don’t even know. All we know: in exchange for your well earned money, we’ll send you some form of laptop computer that might have some scratches and dents. After that, things get a bit hazy.
At minimum, you should expect to receive the following:
- Laptop with a 14″ Screen
- Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
- 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi
- 2GB of DDR2 Memory
- 80GB of Hard Drive Space
- DVD-ROM Drive capable of reading (but not writing) DVDs
- Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit Operating System
- Lithium-Ion Battery & Power Adapter
These components will all belong to a Business Class laptop chassis from one of the following brands:
- Dell
- HP
- Lenovo
- IBM
TL;DR: Give us money, we’ll send you a dinged-up laptop worth a bit more than what you paid us.
It may be a bit of a risk but if you’re looking for a frills free way to get your school work done, it might be worth taking a chance on. Not the deal for you? Check back in a little bit to see if a new deal has been posted.
